How Does VTone Work?
Urinary incontinence is often the result of weakened pelvic and vagina muscles. Just like your other muscles, these respond well to exercise. And while we’ve all heard of Kegels (vaginal muscle exercises), simply doing them yourself at home won’t be enough to take care of your urinary issues. VTone, however, can provide the benefits of a month’s worth of Kegels in one session.
This gentle, effective treatment was developed specifically to rehabilitate the pelvic floor muscles. Electrical stimulation is used to cause muscle contractions that are so powerful that they dramatically improve the weakened, overstretched pelvic floor. The result is reduced stress urinary incontinence, less urinary frequency and urgency, better vaginal muscle laxity, and an overall enhanced quality of life.
What to Expect During a VTone Treatment
VTone treatments are pain-free and take approximately 30 minutes. While everyone is different, we generally recommend a series of 6-8 sessions for the best results. With VTone, no anesthetic is needed. A very small electro stimulator is inserted inside the vaginal opening, where it will deliver safe, low-frequency electrical pulses. Over the course of your session, these pulses — essentially thousands of pelvic floor contractions that mimic Kegel exercises — create involuntary muscle contraction to exercise, tighten, and strengthen the pelvic floor and vaginal muscles, rehabilitating the pelvic floor.
Downtime and Results
There is no downtime with VTone, which our patients appreciate. Results can usually be felt immediately, and continue to get better and better. Peak results are felt 1-2 weeks after the last treatment in your series.
