What is Xeomin?

Xeomin is an injectable treatment that temporarily hinders the contraction of wrinkle-causing muscles, stopping them from forming creases and lines on the face. It is an FDA-approved, minimally-invasive procedure that effectively eradicates or greatly reduces signs of aging such as crow’s feet, frown lines, forehead lines, and other facial wrinkles.

What is the process of receiving Xeomin?

If you are interested in receiving a Xeomin treatment, you will first begin by having a consultation with our master aesthetic injector, Nicole Hill, PA-C. She will discuss with you your beauty goals and decide if Xeomin is right for you. If you are a good candidate, you may be treated in the same visit as your consultation. The treatment is quick and nearly painless. You may be in and out of the office in less than 30 minutes.

What can you expect after your procedure?

After your procedure, you may experience some slight discomfort, swelling, or bruising, but this should disappear within a day. Because Xeomin is minimally invasive, you will experience minimal downtime. You should not exercise for 24 hours or get massages or facials for a couple of days. It is safe to apply makeup immediately after your treatment if you wish.

You will not see immediate results after receiving your Xeomin injections. However, within a few days, you will begin to notice changes in your ability to move your muscles. Within 2 weeks, you will see beautiful, age-reversing results through significantly smoothed skin. These results will last anywhere from three to four months, at which point it is recommended that you receive an additional treatment to maintain your desired youthful look.

How does Xeomin compare to Botox?

Xeomin is proven to be as effective as a rejuvenation treatment as Botox. They both use a neurotoxin to temporarily stop muscles from contracting on the face to prevent and reverse wrinkling and creasing. However, the neurotoxin that Xeomin uses is considered to be organic and pure, making it less likely to cause an allergic reaction. It is also a great option if you have built up a resistance to Botox.

What are the benefits of Xeomin?

If you are bothered by wrinkles and fine lines on your face, Xeomin provides a refreshing solution. Some benefits of Xeomin are as follows:

  • You will achieve smoother, more youthful-looking skin without compromising your facial movement.
  • You are less likely to build up a resistance to Xeomin, making multiple treatments effective and granting a maintainable look.
  • It is an excellent alternative to Botox.
  • It can be used to treat other facial concerns, such as downturned corners of the lip or chin dimples.
  • You may have more confidence and self-esteem because of your smooth, youthful appearance.

Are there any potential side effects to Xeomin?

Like many injectable rejuvenation treatments, after receiving Xeomin, you may experience some discomfort or swelling in the treated area that will go away within a day. Other common side effects you may experience are headache, bruising, swelling of the eyelid or eyelid drooping. If any side effects concern you, contact your doctor.

Are you a good candidate for Xeomin?

If you are a physically healthy adult looking for a minimally invasive treatment to treat wrinkles and deep lines on your face, Xeomin is an effective solution. Xeomin may be a great option to treat your facial concerns, provided you have reasonable expectations of what can be achieved with a non-surgical injectable procedure. You may not be a good candidate if any of the following apply to you.

  • You are currently pregnant or nursing.
  • You have a history of neurological or neuromuscular ailments.
  • You are allergic to the ingredients in Xeomin.
  • You have an active skin infection or condition, particularly at the desired treatment site.
